Tarantula bite


Description

Tarantulas are a group of spiders with over 900 species. Some are big enough to kill mice or lizards but most are harmless to humans. Some are kept as exotic pets. The bites can be painful and a serious allergic reaction can occur if the person is allergic.

Symptoms

Pain and swelling at the site of the bite.

Treatment

Wound care as needed. Some bites can get infected and an antibiotic may be used.
