Description
A disorder characterized by an unpleasant, temporary disturbance that occurs while traveling. Symptoms include dizziness, nausea and/or vomiting. The symptoms become worse with any head movement, and lessen when the eyes are closed.

Treatment
Medications to help prevent and relieve symptoms include scopolamine patch (Transderm Scop) or pills (Scopace); anti-nausea pills such as prochlorperazine (Compazine) and promethazine hydrochloride (Anergan, Phenergan); and antihistamines such as dimenhydrinate (Dramamine), diphenhydramine (Benadryl), and meclizine (Antivert).
